James M. Bacon is an Attorney at Landegger & Verano, where he represents employers in labor and employment matters. Drawing on an extensive background in business strategy, financial services, data analysis, and consulting, James brings a business-focused perspective to his legal practice and an understanding of the operational and financial considerations that often drive employment decisions and litigation strategy.

Prior to joining Landegger & Verano, James founded and served as Managing Director of Class Economics, a data analysis and research firm supporting the legal and financial services industries. He also founded and served as Managing Partner of Financial Services Marketing (FSM), a national consulting firm advising clients on business and marketing strategy, product development, customer acquisition and retention, communications, and sales strategy.

Earlier in his career, James held senior marketing positions with Wells Fargo Bank and The Leo Burnett Company, where he worked with major national and international companies. His business career also included extensive work in markets throughout Asia and Latin America. He provided marketing expertise in the small and medium-sized enterprise sector through U.S. government-sponsored initiatives involving the Bank of Jordan and Punjab National Bank in India. James also worked as an international journalist covering the financial services industry in Mexico and Latin America.

James earned his Juris Doctor from Northwestern California University School of Law and his Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. He received his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of San Diego, which included studies at the Fundación José Ortega y Gasset in Toledo, Spain.

James is fluent in Spanish.
