Rodrigo J. Torres, Esq.
Rodrigo (“Roddy”) has successfully drafted and argued motions to compel arbitration and discovery responses, demurrers, motions to strike, and requests for sanctions. He also has experience drafting writs and defending clients in front of the California Labor Commissioner.
Roddy has settled matters at mediation and pre-litigation. He has conducted workplace investigations and witnesses interviews. Roddy’s fluency in Spanish allows him to serve his clients in the native tongue of a great portion of Southern California’s workforce.
Beyond litigation, Roddy is a practiced employment law speaker before business and HR organizations and conducts regular training sessions and workshops with employer groups on employment law topics such as sexual harassment and wage and hour compliance.
Roddy earned his J.D. from The University of Texas School Of Law. While in law school, Roddy served as an extern for The Honorable Lora Livingston, and worked as a legal clerk for the Travis County Attorney’s Office, researching and drafting memoranda on contract disputes, drone laws, the Federal Labor Standards Act, and law enforcement issues. Roddy’s article on Equal Protection and Employment was published by the Texas Hispanic Journal of Law and Policy. He later served as the Journal’s co-managing editor.
